In 1992, the founders of Nexpirion developed their first collect call business in Latin America, growing to 125 hotels under contract within 24 months.

In 2001, Nexpirion was approached by a foreign PTT with the idea of allowing the operators of the foreign PTT to handle the collect call all the way through validation and onto the called party. The Nexpirion engineers determined that the calling party and the foreign-based operator could both be put in queue while the telephone number was validated. Thereafter, if validation was successful, the foreign operator was connected to the destination number to confirm acceptance of payment.

The Nexpirion Collect Calls, also called IVOP for, "Internet Virtual Operator Platform," allows the foreign-based PTT operator to do the work and it is done in the language common to all three people involved in the collect call.

The overall benefit is a reduction in the costs charged to the foreign PPT for processing and collecting of the collect telephone call.

You can allow your own operators to handle the collect calls and provide a better service while keeping costs low.
